Dreaming of Force Recon!

When I first started this blog I honestly didn't think it would get very many views or it would even be something that people like to read. Obviously I was wrong and I am very glad!
So here is my Spill for the day!

Special Operations: USMC Special Operations Forces / Elite Units

What are everybody's views on a loved one being in the Special Operations?

Email me your thoughts!

Hunter has always wanted to be in Special Ops... (if he didn't have a girlfriend) Recently he has changed his mind and is deciding it is what he wants to do. He is thinking about being a Force Reconnaissance Marine (in the future!). I honestly don't know much about Force Recon but if it is something he wants to do, I'm not going to hold him back. Only support it. That's my job as a Military Girlfriend.

For those of you who don't know what a Reconnaissance, or Recon Marine is, it is a special division of the USMC. Recon is a small team that is sent in before the main assault force goes in. They map the area and mark enemy positions. They designate landing zones for boats and military helicopters. In 1954 Force Recon was an experiment. Soon after that it became apart of the Fleet Marine Force. There are two types of Force Recon Marines. Force Recon and battalion. The only difference is who they are lead by, Task Force commander or Battalion commander. From what I have read the training is the same for both of them. The training is 12 weeks long they are assigned to Infantry school and field training. If the Marines make it through the 12 week training they are eligible for the BRC. (Basic Recon Course)

What Marines learn at BRC:
  • Scout Swimming
  • Small Boat Operations
  • Deep Reconnaissance Techniques
  • Parachute Training or Jump School
  • Unconventional Warfare and Anti-terrorism Techniques
Specialties Chosen For the Recon Marines:
  • Explosives
  • Information Technology
  • Communication
  • Marksmanship
  • (and any other type of skill used in special operations!)
As I type up this blog post for the day I am learning as I go! if I have left any other good info out please tell me and ill add it on(:

all of my info for the day came from...

(If you would like to learn a little more about Force Recon Marines go ahead and read your hearts out!)

Back to my rant and rave!
To be honest I wasn't okay with it at first. I think about movies like black hawk down and all those movies that would just scare the living daylights out of a girl who has a boyfriend who dreams of doing stuff like in the movies. He is definitely made to fight and its starting to register that if being a Force Recon Marine is what hunter wants to be in the future then so be it. I will be right behind him. supporting him. This makes me even more proud than I already am. All I have to do is hope for the best! I know he is strong enough to make it through those 12 weeks of hell. Chasing Hunter...Is pretty stressful, but I wouldn't change it for anything in the world(:

Here are some videos (:
